A few months ago they released a remastered incredible jazz guitar, and just today Boss Guitar. Available for download on Bandcamp as well. Anyone think these sound any better?

No,the whole remaster thing is just a scam in most cases to get you to buy again stuff you already have.

Probably just being remastered for streaming. By that I mean, optimized for the way Spotify or Apple Music specially compresses audio.

Craft Recordings has been reissuing titles from the Riverside and other OJC catalogues for the past couple of years. Available on vinyl and for download. These remasters are generally quite good and offer noticeable improvements in sound. I own quite a few and have been quite pleased with the results. They are not remasters for streaming (i.e., added compression, exaggerated lows and highs). I don't consider this reissue program to be a "scam". If you're not interested in new technology in remastering or hearing what a really good engineer can do with older tapes (e.g., Steve Wilson, Mark Wilder, etc), then don't buy them. But don't dismiss them out-of-hand without listening first.

I feel like it’s an even bigger waste if they are remastering and not optimizing for streaming.

In all fairness, this is absolutely something I would buy on Record Store Day.

Optimizing for streaming has absolutely nothing to do with studio mastering. You can studio master and produce a 1 GB wav file with high fidelity and a streaming service applies the most efficient lossless compression algorithm they can to reduce the size of the file. This compression is data compression (e.g. linear algebra techniques), which also has nothing whatsoever to do with audio compression (I.e. limiting dynamic range).
