Thought I'd share a video of our favorite mind bender playing Parker's tune "Bigfoot" with his trio in 1996
I've listened to this hundreds of times and I still can't wrap my head around the stuff he plays... hard to believe it's a blues when you just listen to Ben's solo. Out of this world harmonic knowledge and application. Genius!!!

Jerome's new record is great!! Also shows that Ben has been on the highest level of guitar playing for *at least* 30 years. I wish more of his trio stuff from the Vanguard this past summer was up online. So far only one set has surfaced...

hmm. I think I disagree with that. Monder makes it look easy as where Fisk generally looks tense and like he is struggling to get through it. I'm more impressed by "look how easy he makes it seem"
