I've been listening to this song by Tal for years but never imagined how weird the lyrics to this tune are.

Apparently it comes from a Rodgers and Hart musical about the Amazons, which probably explains the aggressive lyrics:

Larry Hart definitely had a macabre streak - "...so I bought a little arsenic..."

Hart was apparently pretty far gone into alcoholism by the time this show was written, and it was the last one they did together. Hart died not long after. But they wrote a ton of great songs in the 25 years or so they worked together.
