Very detailed interview about tone, strings, picking, her sound, learning, education and so much more. Been posted before but worth a fresh look.......Touches on a lot of the recent posts subjects ..

Jocelyn, mentions she is using 012 D'addario Chromes on the video, swapping the E and B for 013-(017?) or 014-(018?).. although she uses Ti (Bebop? from her usual sound I assumed they were Bebop rounds) in similar gauges .

Her pick appears to be a Primetone .Jocelyn Gould interview on That Pedal Show-screenshot-2025-02-10-17-12-07-pngYes, it's in her compact!and looks pretty beat up, must be a spare

It was surprising to hear she had no formal music education until 2006 at 20 years old !

    She does give lessons!

Her high level of skill combined with a charismatic personality should keep her at the top of the jazz guitar game for many years to come.

The art of the jazz guitar is moving on from aging Boomers and soon to be aging Gen Exers dominating the field. That is a good thing!

that was a great interview. I really enjoy her music and try and catch her youtube show when she posts them.

I really enjoyed the intro and seeing Dan get moved to tears. That's totally understandable with her tone!

I've seen her live once, and she was a joy! Hope she comes to town again!

I watched it when it first came out and just watched it again. Wonderful player and very inspiring person. She demonstrated how different her archtop sounds depending on how she holds it when playing. I tried that with my GB10 and yes, there’s a difference. Also I noticed how her picking technique seems to come from the elbow. It looks a bit stiff and with quite large movements of the pick, definitely not economy picking, but it sounds just beautiful. Such great tone.

Now pls excuse me while I woodshed.
