I’ve been listening to Peter Bernstein and Alison Neale. Both are excellent.

Peter has a ton of stuff out. Can anyone suggest where or how I can dig deeper?

I've been maintaining and updating a Spotify playlist since 2010 of Peter's recorded work, both as a leader and sideman. Plenty to explore there.

The long-running collaborative organ trio of Peter Bernstein, Larry Goldings and Bill Stewart is one of the strongest threads through Peter's career and as a good a place to start as any. All of their recordings are strong. I'd pick 'Sweet Science' as my favourite.

His trio album 'Monk' is out of print and hard to find (it's not on streaming) but is worth tracking down as it's one of the most important guitar trio recordings of the last twenty years and some of the best interpretations of Monk's music by a guitarist.

His recordings as a leader for Smoke Sessions Records are all excellent and last year's 'Better Angels' is a great place to dive in.

Signs of Life is a favorite and also the recent Signs Live! where he recorded live with the same band.

That's so weird that his "Monk" record would be out of print. I got it from Amazon (mp3) back when they still allowed you to download the files directly without having to install their (insert expletive here)-ware.

    Must be a licensing issue.

Don’t have much to add that hasn’t been ….

My intro was Earth Tones which is a pretty old record now. Tbh you could jump in at his last release as a leader ‘Better Angels’ and get a good idea of what he’s about. But he’s on a squillion records…

    the Monk record is great.
