Gene Bertoncini's solo albums, Quiet Now and- I'm drawing a blank on the other one. [edit: Body and Soul]

Barney Kessel's solo record is lovely.
Jonathan Kreisberg ONE showcases a more modern harmonic approach.
Ralph Towner's catalog has many solo offerings, all of which are really imaginative and takes the possibilities of the instrument into an almost classical realm.
Bill Connors Theme to the Guardian is also a lovely showcase of solo guitar.
Steve Khan Evidence showcases solo guitar on tunes by Wayne Shorter and other modern composers.

One of my favorite recordings of one of my favorite jazz ballads.

KB’s version uses a flat 6th, which I prefer to the original.

That opened up the tune to other harmonic choices.
