Why does it matter what race she is, and why do we have to be reminded of her inner beauty? :P

What I find more interesting is why those two comments prompted those questions.

I find the comments to be "innocent", in that their intent wasn't to provoke. But those questions are only to provoke.

Ill admit, I thought the thread title and "inner beauty" comment was a bit odd.

She's good. Not overly flashy with the playing, great voice.

Why? Because it says "African-American" instead of "Afro-American" or because it's a bit of a pleonasm to add it to "blues person" given the cultural heritage of that music?
Or because it was written by someone calling himself "boss man"

    Dude, nobody says "Afro American"

I guess it seemed odd because why say it at all? If it was a guy, would the thread have been " blues guitarist Evan Bell?"

But it was the beauty is on the inside comment that threw me...how do we know? Maybe she's a serial killer? Would we ever say that about a dude?

I assumed the beauty on the inside comment was made as a way to communicate: I posted this because I really like how this singer\musician expresses herself and not because she is hot.

I tell my fourth graders that it’s never a good idea to comment on someone else’s appearance. Somehow they dont find it confusing.

Cant say the same for adults.

I have to think about how (and whether) I can explain this inner beauty to people who are obviously not able to feel it. It definitely has to do with a pure heart that radiates outwards. She also radiates tenderness and a deep sense of relaxation. I receive all of that as inner beauty.

As for the African-American: How many other guitar-playing blues singers are there who are women of colour? Who play music that was developed by people of colour? I don't see many ATM, but I'm happy to be enlightened. That's why I thought it was worth mentioning.

I'm very impressed, regardless of race, gender, blues genre etc. Just a superb soulful player.

The boss man just posted it because he liked her and her playing and wanted to express that. What's wrong with that? Why are you all jumping on him?
