The record he put out around this time, called "Splitlife" with Ari Hoenig and Joe Martin is a must-listen. You can hear how locked in the band is. It's not on Spotify and some tracks are on YouTube but it is definitely worth buying the MP3 from Gilad's website for about 10 bucks. Imagine being able to play like that at 22 or 23. Crazy stuff.

"I Should Care" from that album is just gorgeous.

Can you please put family names into thread titles? I am disapointed because I thought the thread was about Gilad Atzmon.

    What a musician!
And what a guitarist! Banana fingers, man!

But I'm not just an undistinguished advance-beginner jazz guitarist, I'm also an undistinguished OCD gearhead.
The minute I saw this video I knew that "my" quartet needed me to use a Boss OC-5 pedal, and I've been working on it ever since.
Sometimes, in the right hands, the gear helps make the music. (Really, honey! Honest!)

And at 2:24: "There's also the element of practice, you know."
Even for Mr. Hekselman, words to live by.
