He's a perfectly cromulent modern jazz singer.

Well, I see the Simpsons are creeping into this discussion.

But on point, I think that Michael [note the spelling] is a great singer keeping the big band legacy alive. Not too many hire a big band these days to tour. I'd listen to him and the band filled with excellent musicians without regrets and be smiling most of the time.

And, in a different direction, his participation on 'the voice' makes that program almost viewable.
