I still think you should've stuck with the organ.
I guess your next forum handle will be "Red Norvo".

I like organ. The problem is it exaggerates my weakness of rhythm / technical skills and takes away my strength of touch / feeling. Soo.. That's a pretty tall order to overcome that and make it my main instrument over piano. I could get back into it but I would have to get a tonewheel, I hated the digital. I really want to get the vibraphone. I know I would take to it and it sounds so nice.

Don't know anything about vibraphones but I've always like the sound.
This is from 50 years ago but the vibraphone (or whatever it is) solo always impressed me. It starts at 1:50.

^ Xylophone with wooden bars rather than metal but small resonator pipes. But yeah, vibraphone/xylophone/marimba combine rhythm and melody really effectively. That's a reason I'd like to try it. I'd like to play an instrument that I could get after rhythmically. It's tougher for me on keys having to hold down more of the music at the same time.

I'd get a vibtator -- much cheaper and might solve other problems as well.

You want the vibraphone? There's only one? Who knew?
-
You can't have it, it's mine.

Did Bags inherit it from Lionel?

Probably Red Norvo if I had to guess if we're going chronologicaly though he sounds like neither.
I caught him a bunch of times w the MJQ and w his quartet w Ray Brown Cedar Walton and Mickey Roker, I'm a big fan.
He said in an interview he didn't want to sound like Hamp and his fast speed so he slowed the motor way down.

Yes, this is the exact one I want. The Yamaha YV 2700. 3 octave with silver mat bars. Same thing as the one in the clip but that one has gold glossy bars.
