Doesn’t a Jazz forum seem like a funny place to argue about how ”big” musical acts are? What were the album sales like on many of the artists we admire?

When comparing music video views on youtube you insist we include cat videos.

Yes, cats are bigger then gnr and miles davis combined. Just ... simple ... fact.

And that is as it should be. If I could only have Guns N Roses, Miles Davis or Cats, the felines would win, hands down.

I always loved cats untill my neighbour with no garden got 2 Maine Coon's. That's like 2 medium sized dogs constantly ******* in your garden.

Ever seen a cat turn itself inside out in happiness to see you?
    I haven’t ... Dogs rule.

Ever seen a white Gibson ten years or older not turning yellow?
    I haven’t.

Ever seen drawn out insane arguments with nothing to do with the OP topic on jazzguitar.be?

Ever realize jazz musicians won’t admit they are insanely jealous that they can’t fill a stadium like the popular acts can?
Or for all the effort in learning their love very few listeners other than jazz forum rats really care?
Or that whether you define success in monetary terms or artistic terms, very few people outside of our tiny little ‘jazzguitar’ niche even care we exist?

We boomer jazz players are piston engine propeller mechanics in 1961. Now where did I leave my spark plug wrench, er, I meant my L5?

Dogs are great if you want to be slavishly worshiped by a pet.

Cats are great if you want to have a pet friend who has a personality and an independent mind of their own

I find bonding with friendly slobbering mindless creatures quite satisfying. I expect to be universally worshipped so that’s cool with me)
Cats are too much like humans, they have personally and are independent thinkers.

That's why they call people who play jazz, jazzcats. And not jazzdogs.

Cats are unintelligent. (Very small brains in relation to body size.) Dogs are much smarter. Being sociable takes brain power. Cats aren't independent thinkers---they're simple minded. They're not mysterious; they're empty.

This is a pretty simplistic and inaccurate characterization of cats actually.

Cats are sociable, but for a cat, being social is a choice, for a dog it's an automatic behavioral response. This is because cats are competent independent hunters, dogs need other dogs to survive. So even if an owner abused their dog, their dog would "love" them the same. Being social is an survival automaton response for a dog.

Cats would never form a relationship with another being if it's not rewarding for them (just like humans). Cats can form colonies or partner up with another cat or be independent. It's a choice they make, not a need, necessity or automatic response. So when you earn the friendship of a cat, it feels more special to me.

Intelligence in animals is not well defined and understood. Orangutans' are among the most intelligent spices in "human terms". They are also solitary animals. There are tasks cats outperform dogs and vice versa.

It took me about 30 seconds on the web and a lifetime with cats to find out what a dumb and uninformed thing you just said. Cats are empty? You are full of it. Just wiki cats and intelligence. There is pretty much research on cats and intelligence.

I’ve lived with cats my entire adult life. And I’ve owned 3 boxers the past 15 years. The 3 cats I currently have use the 3’x2’ dog door. They come and go as they please. I didn’t teach them how to do it. They just did it on their own. Yeah, that was pretty unintelligent of them.

Same thing here. I find cats much better and way more interesting company than 99% of the homo sapiens that I meet.

I started to type out a long reply about what an uninformed post this was, but I'll just leave this here:

Somebody stop this thread. It endangers the credibility of not only certain individuals but the whole Forum. I'm here for jazz guitar, not for cats, dogs or who's the hugest. If all this is tongue-in-cheek pastime, please pardon my simple foreign mind for not getting it.

Enough frivolity with cats and dogs, let's go back to discussing the 50K ES 175.
