I remember Warren Nunes books. In fact, I still play one or two of his ideas. There were so few books available years ago, so anything helped. I loved the arpeggiated four fret ideas. Different fingerings opens up different possibilities.

I now have the Basic Jazz & Blues Complete Instructor. I expect I am the first to borrow it in a long time.

It contains more chords than you could shake a stick at, and progressions aplenty, as well as cycles.
Part 3, The Blues, is extensive.

I have one of his books, The Blues. One of the best books I ever read concerning the modern or jazz blues.

I just got to writing out a list of his books for guitar (not including books for other instruments), and this is the best I could come up with in case anyone is looking for the different books.
Do note that there are different editions of the books (some with comb binding and some not) and some are collected versions. The only easily available book is the The Jazz Guitar Chord Bible Complete published by Alfred Publishing. The others can be found from time to time but can be pricey.
I am in the middle of writing reviews for as many of these books, three of them up so far:

Hi hope all is well.
Does anyone have an MP3, or other audio/video format of the audio exercises that come with the Flexi disc of Warren Nunes Jazz guitar solo patterns? I have a hard copy of the book but it came without the Flexi disc. I am not a good music reader and don't have a record player. So a digital audio or video file would be very helpful for studying.
Would you be able to record the audio from the record and share it or sell it to me?
I don't have a record player and don't intend to use a record player to study guitar. You can't stop or loop a Flexi disc.
Also I am after a pdf version of Warren Nunes jazz guitar portfolio. Where can I get one?
Thanks

I managed to buy a book by Nunes recently. The title is,
Basic Jazz & Blues Complete Instructor part 1 2 3 - A Guitar Chord Method by Warren Nunes & Jerry Snyder
I still have not started working with the book yet, but it looks a nice book for study.

this is pretty hard to find, but i did manage to track down Improved Solo Improv Tech, The Blues, Rhythm and Background Chords and the Chord Bible.
they need a bit of clean-up so that a print can be made at a good quality and then will upload them send them to Z too.
anyone have any more scans so we can build a proper collection for those that want it?
will have a look on ebay too to see abt prices and get stuff to scan. what would be a good one to have?

I have many books by Warren Nunes.
I think that "Rhythm and Background Chords", "The Blues", "Solo Patterns" and "Solo improvisation Techniques" are very useful for beginners on jazz guitar because they contain little theory but a lot of actual music played.
Many years ago, I purchased other equally interesting books by Warren Nunes:
GUITAR SOLOS - JAZZ STANDARDS IN CHORD STYLES VOLUME 1, 2 and 3 (SDM PRODUCTION, 1980)
These are small volumes of about 20 pages containing various chord-melody arrangements of well-known songs: Here's That Rainy Day, Satin Doll, Misty, Miss Jones, Green Dolphins St., How High the Moon, Wave, Autumn, Leaves, Sophisticated Lady, and many others.
I also have the audio cassettes that I transferred to CDs.
The arrangements are handwritten, and studying them requires patience because the chord diagrams are on a separate page. But they are very useful pieces with fairly easy fingerings.
I also have three other volumes by Warren Nunes that I believe are quite rare:
Guitar & Bass Duets (SDM PRODUCTION, 1980)
Advanced Concepts for Rhythm Guitar (SDM PRODUCTION, 1983)
Jazz Soloing in Concept and Practice (SDM PRODUCTION, 19??)
It's a shame all these books haven't been reprinted because they're very interesting.

As someone mentioned earlier, a free trial subscription to Scribd will get you the few Warren Nunes books to be found on the web. They're all long out of print so people are hawking them on eBay, etc., for absurdly high prices.

LOL! I saw the thread title and thought it said "Warren Zanes" and all I could think was "A book?!?!That guy could barely write his name!"
