What would be the closest match for it in the realm of jazz?

Doesn't have to be a copy, just that.. you know the feeling when hearing something but it instantly triggers a memory of another piece? "this reminds me of... or "it's like..."
Has to have a distinctive nuance of any type (rhythm, notes, sounds, vibe, some idea of lyrics, etc).

"Firestarter" works 2 ways when counting the meter. The heavy drum on 1st beat or 4th.

I never heard it that way and I am absolutely not able to hear it that way. Snare on the backbeat, bassline and last but not least vocals absolutely define the Roland 808 "hum kick" as being on the one for me .

There are pieces of electronic music where you actually can turn the beat around (especially when you are stoned LOL). I remember when I first heard Aphex Twin's "Selected Ambient Works" at a friends place. He showed me how you could interpret the rhythm differently. But that does not work for this Prodigy tune at all for me.

EDIT: Intellectually you can interpret any tune's rhythm differently. But this tune is perfect example for Hal Galper's Forward Motion. "I'm the firestarter! BOOOM!"

We have those memories in the brains. It might be good to link more stuff to each other. To fight old age or.. to stir up the current comfort zone.
