QD's onto something for sure. But for me, the drumless OPT had serious swagger as well as world class swing. Individually and collectively, they beat almost every other performer(s) hands down on both. One of my first jazz albums (and still one of my favorites) is an anthology of swing at all tempos, and it was where I discovered Herb Ellis. The whole thing is on YT. Here's the first track:
