I've been here for over 18 years... This is a very long period of time.
It's already becoming a manner for me.
Same or similar questions , problems all the time.
I think it's time for a long vacation.
    All The Best

I'll miss you. I enjoy your playing, I like your perspective as a working musician, and I like it that you don't tolerate fools--even if the fool happens to be me!

Have fun on your journey. You are a great player and have played with some of the greats. Not many can say that.

That's one of the things that makes me unhappy about Kris leaving. We have a hard time on this forum keeping the really good, working players, participating. After a while they just get fed up with some of the stuff that gets said and they have better things to do. I'm grateful kris stayed all those years. I hope he isn't gone long. We need the pro players here, and we need to listen to them better than we do.

Online communities change over time and sometimes people simply move on to other things. Hopefully you'll still stop by every now and then because experienced members always have something valuable to contribute. I was looking at justfly justfly.pissedconsumer.com/review.html recently while planning a trip and it reminded me that sometimes a change of scenery can be a good thing. Wishing you all the best wherever life takes you.

I always enjoy reading your stuff, especially about nylon string guitars.

What happened? I haven’t been back long enough to know what’s going on here. I have left often. For years. I don’t think I’ve been here for three or maybe even five years. And it’s always something weird that drove me off. I may not be here long either. Sorry to see anyone feel that they have to go though.

Please don’t leave as well, Henry! Your posts are always something I click on as soon as I see them. Kris left before, but came back. My hope is that he will just take some time out, and will return when he is ready for it. I’ve done that a few times myself.

Thank you Rob. This place is fun but sometimes there’s just one or two characters whose egos get pushed out of shape and then go into attack mode. Covertly mostly. It makes it NOT a fun place to be. Mostly they’re people who aren’t really great players. I’ve removed myself or them from my life and social media EVERYWHERE. This makes life much more enjoyable. Thank you for your kind words.

I think one problem is it becomes a level playing field for people who don't learn who the best players are.

So, a beginner comes and gets advice from literally world class players to, not to be rude, very poor players; and they have no way to know the difference.

I can't imagine being a player of such a high level and getting such strong pushback.

If I was a beginner, I would pay for lessons with a good Jazz teacher. Unfortunately, I think using lesson advice from an online forum is a recipe for disaster.

I read the forum only for chat and debate. But especially, videos of some good players and pictures of beautiful guitars.
