    You can use them several ways. I think it's beneficial to apply them in all these different ways because they help you go towards your goal of getting to the master's quality of play. Memorize them and play them. This improves your time feel, technique, and gives you osmosis. Steal licks and try to integrate them. This improves your vocab. Or you can just study them and try to learn the concepts too.
