Lester is probably one of the greatest saxophonists, his melodic lines are pure poetry.
I discovered that he recorded an entire album with Billie Holiday, and there are several gems of solos to transcribe

Thanks for that! I love Prez's playing. There's Charlie Christian's roots right there, and to hear his lines on the guitar, it's like being in a club as a time traveller, Charlie learning Lester's lines.

Thank you so much Jimmy for your kind words! Lester is so amazing, he can be so poetic and so dynamic! I was listening his recordings with Oscar Peterson and also with Count Basie, so versatile...! As you said we can feel the Charlie Christian roots in his playing!

Serendipity, I just started transcribing this solo too, although I've been transposing it to C, since that's the key it's usually called in.

Glad to learn that you're transcribing this solo! This solo is pretty cool, I started a new transcription of an other solo of Lester. I'm really surprised by the work that he did with Billie Holiday, so many great introductions and solos to learn
