Good stuff. Inspired me to do my favorite solo - Milt Jackson on T Monk's Willow weep for me. I'm now downloading iTunes so I can download the track and stick it in Reaper. I haven't had iTunes since the 00s. And now it wouldn't let me create an account so I'm mad.

No, I will not be taking another pass without the pick.

1994 was the end of KJAZ-FM. These final segments are from Hi-Fi videotape recordings that myself and others had made during the last weeks before signing off for good on July 31st.

Sep. 30, 1969: Jazz in the Afternoon - Jim Toman with Milt Jackson. (5:00PM - 5:40PM)

P.S. - Alas, this interview with Milt is pretty much just small talk, other interviews in the archive are much better.

Embarking on phase two of this solo, which is to really dig in on individual passages.

I like to focus on the transcriptions for chops and articulation stuff to start with.

So phase two consists of taking each of the big technical passages (which is most of the solo) and moving those onto other string sets. I like to start there because the picking stays the same when the number of notes on each string stays consistent.
