I listen to piano players for soling mainly. Lately I've been on a Red Garland kick again. And Chick Corea from the Now He Sings, Now He Sobs album. But for comping I take much of my inspiration from Garland. Huge Brad Mehldau fan. I've also seriously listened to Jarrett, McCoy, Oscar Peterson. But as far as ear transcribing a lot of Garland and Chick Corea.

I'm going to listen to more Herbie Nichols and Monk.
Here's a guy I met just once and heard him play. Friend of my parents. Al Tinney was awesome and a very cool guy.

Cedar Walton! Brilliant unsung pianist. I've done some transcriptions of his solos. He can be note perfect and succinct.

Walton, Byard, but for right hand lines, really digging Sonny Clark.

Also Jean-Michel Pilc (starting at 3:05) --

Yeah, Pilc is from another planet.
