    New guy, first post, not sure if I belong lol. I feel like I'm amongst super knowledgeable jazz guys here (I have been reading this forum a while but just now registered) and I'm a total noob with much of the language and such. I'm going to post a bunch of possible useless information followed by a question:

    Decades of guitar playing, mostly self taught blues and country/rockabilly with a bit of jazz. I gig now and then. I'm at a point where I am purposefully trying to get to the next level in my guitar playing. I'm subscribed to a few Patreon teachers mostly focused on jump blues, rockabilly and jazz.

    My question is this, and I only have a rockabilly example to show. At the 1:00 mark Setzer plays four chords or chord fragments at the end of the turn around. Is this called a "descending chromatic"? What would I call that section of the song. This is where I'm wanting to dig in deep and expand my vocabulary, but I'm not sure what it is called.

    What do we call that passing chord progression? And if I seem dense it's because I am lol, but I get points for trying to learn! Thank you

    So in Bb it's a take on a Bb G7 C7 F7 turnaround. I hear Bb G13 Gb13 F13 . The Gb13 is a tritone from C7 - a common sub.

    G13 = 3X345X Gb13 = 2X234X F13 = 1X123X
    ps he may be omitting the low E string altogether.
    Also , instead he may be covering the A string at frets 4, 3 and 2 respectively. ie the Hendrix chord.

    No, it's not, it's C#7#9 - C7#9 - B7#9.

    They're not jazzers!

    But it could be G13 - Gb13 - F13, it wouldn't make a lot of difference.

    No it's not, it's C#7#9 - there's an E nat at the top.

    Thanks, my typo, now corrected. C#7#9.

    I don't remember typing b9... weird.
