I'm looking for a classical guitar. Caveat, my family is going camping on Lake Superior for a week and I want an inexpensive, but quality, guitar to bring on the trip. Some other family members casually play and I think they'll want to jam. So, good excuse to buy my N+1th guitar.

Electric budget guitars have improved VASTLY in the last decade, is the same true with Classical guitars? Is there an Epiphone/Ibanez of classical, or should I just look at Epiphone and Ibanez?

Cordoba is probably your best bet. They are made well enough and sound good enough for what i think you are looking for.

Yamaha and Cordoba are the best in the budget nylon department.

You can probably find a used Cordoba C5 for around $300 if you hunt a bit.

Don't even have to hunt. Guitar Center website has some starting at $200

You can buy the lower value range Cordoba guitars very inexpensively on the used Guitar market. I think that the lower value range Cordoba guitars are NOT made in Spain.

All these cheap Cordoba guitars are made in China.

Best stay away from Cordoba, unless for some inexplicable reason the QC on their Chinese junk is much more selective in the US than it is here. NB: not just my opinion based on a desastrous experience with a not-that-cheap model; my classical guitar teacher agrees whole heartedly. OTOH he has good experiences with Prodipe (Prodipe, imported overseas through Technopolis in Canada). Probably slightly up in price there is Kremona.

I think the suggestion to go to a store likely to have a decent selection also of used guitars is the best here.

You don't mention your definition of "cheap", nor what kind of music will be jammed and why you'd want a classical for that. Someone suggested Cort, and their OC8 Gold Nylon "modern classical" might fit the bill (used they go around 600€ here, if you can find them).
Or - consider a flamenca? Thomann have 1 or two cheaper ones that get very positive reviews.
