Well, I'll certainly try them for that price (around $9 per set). Treble Set Material: "Synthetic Gut" - Call me skeptical but we'll see....

I majored in classical guitar 50 years ago and only had gut strings two times on my guitar. The Aquila come close in feel to those gut strings but not exactly as i remember.Where they excel in my opinion is in the sound and sweet vibrato that gut gives you.

I play lutes, and tried Aquila,on lutes they became quite common… and some top players use them.
I do not like them, first of all too stretchy, gut is not stretchy, very dense material. When you touch gut string it is certain combination or flexibility and resistance that no other material I tried has.
But Aquila does not have it at all, yes they are bright and imho this is why they sell so well on ukes, because the deadest instrument becomes bright and colourful.
But for serious stuff, when you go deeper in nuances I think this brightness is too straightforward.
Again there are very good players who use them.
And sometimes I use too, you can handle it if you try if course but it is not worth it.

and Aquila classical strings I did not like at all, too thick, too dull
