Back in my day when I was playing professionally I almost never used reverb unless I was in a room that was extremely dead. I always felt like reverb took the punch out of my guitar tone.

His art is also a bit stiff. But it’s inspired some of the funniest highbrow cartoons in history.

I like a little reverb for solo and small ensembles unless I’m in a room with some natural reverb. I try to keep the reverb level low enough that a casual listener might not realize it’s there. I have one amp with a modified Princeton circuit. A dwell control was added to the reverb, and the reverb was revoiced to reduce the treble a bit. I like the control that gives over the quality of the spring reverb.
