Thanks, I didn't know it but the trumpet you can see belonged to Miles Davis.

A very cool venue, wherever that is!

A good sounding band! I wish I could hear more!

Congrats on what I would consider you reaching a level of excellence.

Keep up the good work brother!

In a church that belongs to a castle built between the 12th and 14th centuries, now the castle is destroyed, only ruins remain but the church is still there.
    Thanks for the compliment.
The guy on the flugelhorn was a guest.

There are not a lot of recordings, I asked Max if I could record the concert. He said he didn't want because he said it is better when people talk about they heard live instead of watching videos about things they didn't live.
Max is clever... The press was there.

But this is a bit of a rehearsal...

Very nice, Lionel, and nice venue. On a side note: It's a little bit sad to see that Jazz audiences are made of, mostly, gray headed people...

It takes time to play or appreciate jazz but the audience was in a good shape because it was very difficult to reach the place.

Members of this forum are not out of this process, critics, support and sometimes provocations kicked me to do more and more.
Who knew I would play the double bass with such musicians ? I didn't !
Today they said maybe one of the greatest musicians of my area will join the band in September if he is not too busy.
He played with the greatest, even with Dizzy Gillespie.
I hope they won't kick me out !

I keep playing the guitar, I don't practice so much but I don't know why I'm improving...
When I'm playing other instruments, the same happens.

I think we all need need eachother to improve.

Firing a decent bass player who also has their head on straight is among the hardest moves to make so I'd guess your employment is reasonably safe right now. I think you need to tell Max people outside his area of operations want to see more, though I do understand his approach. Record the entire concert and post the song that came out best, or just a portion of a song that Max approves of. But....always leave people wanting more.

Maybe you guys will make it stateside for some jazz festivals! Just know you are living something many dream about, but few have the motivation and guts to pursue. That's awesome!

We've got a bunch of festivals where I live but they don't want local musicians because we are supposed to be bad or just clowns.
We talked about it, by chance Max is not French so it can be possible.
The other option is to hire someone from Paris or Marseille, or another country, it could be an American, that sounds better for a festival.
