Another one from one of Jimmy Blue Note’s SuperChops group from a few years ago. Chart and discussion here:
Commit to a song a week. What could a serious student hope to learn?Last edited by wzpgsr; 02-10-2022 at 07:47 PM.

Thank you, that's helpful. Not much of a break for you between tunes, though.

OK, here it is. Probably not everyone's cup of tea

Interesting to hear without the propulsive horns of the Bill Evans versions I’ve been listening to. If you’re up for it, try kicking up the tempo a good bit and see if you hear the tune the same way.

I've tried it at the same speed as all the YT versions, backing tracks, etc. I hear the same thing only quicker. It's the same, only chases on a bit more, that's all.
So I'd play it the same way. Not exactly the same but essentially the same. I've also speeded up my current version and the same thing happens. It wouldn't alter my take on it much, if at all. You can hear that if you want.
Actually, the speeded-up version doesn't sound radically different from what I was doing before anyway. The head, possibly because of the spaces in it, sounds just the same. And I generally solo according to the head.
Why do you think it would make a lot of difference?

You folks got me curious on this one.
I hope you don't mind me posting the Bill Evans version. It is quite an epic song, with many tempo changes that had me a little confused with my first listen. But I am glad that I heard it and will listen again when I have some quality time and my ears wide open.

Here's it quicker. It sounds a bit compressed but it'll do. See what you think. One good thing - it's shorter :-)

I liked them both, but I do like the faster one a bit better. Drives ya forward a bit, which I like. Real nice lick around 1:40 or so—sort of trails off into this little descending whole tone thing (alternating by fourths or fifths? Monkish) for a few notes around 1:50.

But, to be honest, that's not what I was thinking. I was just thinking Gm and I hit the Ab by accident. I cursed a bit then thought it was okay when I heard it back :-)

Here’s a quickie. Had to try rolling my own backing track again. Went for the all thumb approach for some reason. Should have time to take another stab at this before end of week.

I liked it. The end woke you up!

Crickets…

Not many takers on this one apparently... shame, it's lovely to solo over.

One more for the road.

Great, so nice
