ii-V-I 1/2 step displacement

This is something I do frequently. I will take a ii-V-! progression and I will start my line a 1/2 step above the ii
chord. It may seem like a mistake but i’m treating the Am7 like an A7Alt chord using Bbm over it and the same thing
with the D7 chord, treating it like an Alt chord and using Ebm before resolving it to the I chord.
