    Hi all,

For Major ii-Vs there are lots of tunes that seem to be a great way of practising Major ii-Vs (both Long & Short) ... Autumn Leaves; Tune Up; Satin Doll; Honeysuckle Rose; Woody'n You; Afternoon in Paris; Broadway etc. etc.

What I'm wondering is what people think for Minor ii-Vs ? From what I've found online, people have suggested... Stella by Starlight; Yesterdays; Softly as in a Morning Sunrise; Beautiful Love (as well as Autumn Leaves!).

    Any favourites you'd suggest?

Autumn Leaves is a minor tune, so that turnaround to G- is a minor ii V.

Some other easy minor tunes, Blue Bossa, In a Sentimental Mood, Recorde Me, Serenade to a Cuckoo, Sugar.

But really, any turnaround to ii can be a minor turnaround. Change the last bar of Satin Doll to Em7b5 A7b9 into the Dm7 that it starts with.

Bernie's Tune (A Section). Also, What Is This Thing Called Love, a tune that contains both minor ii-Vs and a signature Cole Porter move - minor ii-V that resolves to the parallel major.

Cleopatra's Dream by Bud Powell is basically nothing but minor ii-V-i.
