Joe Diorio / Mccoy Tyner, inside-out, diatonic 4th triads over Am7


These are diatonic triplets walking up the A dorian scale and played over an Am7 groove. These are cool things
to have underneath your fingers. What makes this slightly different is that I am starting the triplet on the 3rd
leg of the triplet. Because the first note is a low note, each triplet downbeat starts on the 2nd of 3 notes in the
pattern.




If you think of the triplet as a group represented by tri-po-let, tri-po-let, tri-po-let,and the the pattern we are


playing looks like this:


Of course you can play it on the beat as well but it sounds cooler generating forward motion
