Still working on this. I *think* it’s getting better

I think you are making splendid progress. There are a lot of really nice phrases and ideas in this. I'm just a middling player, but I doubt I could play better over this tune than you have hear. Whatever you're doing, it seems to me like it's the right stuff.

an audible "wooooooooooooo" and moderate jazz face when you hit that first bop lick.

Please and thank you.

That's really nice, Cliff! Wonderful progress. You really nailed it with some very nice lines. Cool tone, too. Well done. If you are still intended playing this at your jam sometime then I think you have nothing at all to worry about. Multiple choruses, too!
Your guitar does fry my brain to look at though. It's like some kind of optical illusion!

that guitar is a looker. I think what gets me is the continuity of line from where the bass side upper bout "passes under" the neck and comes out at the cutaway, a very clean and continuous flowing line. Beautiful!

Peter - you got me! I was only giving out half-measures last time around. Very sorry.
Glad you folks like the guitar - my very first archtop, which I custom ordered. I was a bit nervous, since I'm used to playing super-strats. But not only does it look and sound great, it plays really easily too.
Derek - one day I'll get to that jam! It was rainy cats and dogs on Sunday, and I have to walk to the pub, so I decided against it. I'll have to wait until the end of February now.

Nice to see someone make progress around here. I haven't had much time to practice lately but people like you who make real tangible progress who aren't starting at expert level are an inspiration for people like me.
-
Aw, thanks! That's a really nice thing for you to say!

You're doing great! I think you've achieved it - a level of play that sounds good to the listener. Your content is good, nice creative lines and phrasing. Nice work with your student Christian. I notice that, like me, you just get nervous and your technique breaks down. A simple way to fix this is practice recording every day (that you can) and you get used to it, rather than only recording when you want to make a tune. I think you've got it.

Thanks Bobby!
