Nice billets. European maple? European spruce?
It is going to look fantastic. Excited for you, Rob.
PS How is it going to be finished? I have seen some really nice looking violin oil varnishes. It may be costly to do such a big guitar though but just a thought.Last edited by Jabberwocky; 09-27-2017 at 10:51 PM.

The billet and rims are some beautiful Sycamore Maple Rob...
-
That 19" reminds me of Kim Kardashian... I wouldn't mind playing with her... the guitar that is :-)
-
I'd love to try a 19 inch archie myself
-
you know, they make these cool shiny rectangles now that you can put on your guitar to make it sound awesome. plug it into a stack, the ladies love it. you should give it a shot.

also, i think its hilarious that it's literally called excalibur. i had to look it up. i thought you were just calling it that. that's awesome. excited to see what you do it with.
-
Yes, the name is amusing. I've really no interest in or intention to amplify it. If I ever do, it will be with a mic. 18 inches more than enough for me, no need to got to 19.
March seems far off!
-
oh myyyyyy....
That's gonna be some kind of sexy right there.
-
Very excited that you are getting an instrument crafted to your specifications. I look forward to the day it's in your hands and hearing what you make with it.
-
Oh Rob !
This guitar's gonna bark !
I can imagine what are your feelings receiving these photos.
Thanks for sharing
We're all gonna support you till March (at least !

That looks incredibly neat. I'm amazed that the shape is roughed out with what looks like a angle grinder with a sanding disk on it, and not using a cnc or pantograph, but there you go, people with skill and experience don't need those automated tools!
-
A thing of beauty is a joy forever!
-
Cool! Thanks for the update!

Cheers, lads. I'm loving these new photos. Nice to see his signature beneath the X bar.
