I really can appreciate JS's pursuit of the instument form and function and it's evolution. Good thing his main instument wasn't a grand piano!

I have always wondered, if the body was indeed a repurposed Citation, whether the body integrated heel cap had been retained. The Smithsonian pictures answer that question. This poor quality video confirms the unusual placing of the output jack.
