Mike - You may have already addressed a question of mine, and if so, pardon the repeat. But what was your thought process on a humbucker versus a floating pickup? I have no experience with the floater, so I was wondering what you considered.
-
Looks awesome with that PUP, I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks!
-
Really sweet Mike. I am really happy for you. I love happy success stories. Mr.Wu is a man of great talent.
-
I sent Ms. Lora a pic to see if they will build my "ULTIMATE" kitschy git. Maybe, just maybe?
-
Wow, Mike. I'm glad this one turned out so well for you. Gorgeous looking woods, and I really think mr. Wu has stepped up the game with the tailpieces - both on yours and 2b's. (I might have to upgrade mine at some point, though purely for aesthetic reasons!) I've had mine for a year and a half now, and the honeymoon still isn't over. The tone just gets better, and it is mind-blowing how much guitar you get for the money...
-
It started out as a floater, but I already have two floaters: the early Eastman 810 prototype, which Mr Wu built way back... Waaaaay back. Then the 16 inch Pisano AR880 (but a floater) so I went with the set pickup on this. That's some variety in tone and depth.

2Bs guitar you recognize
How I added Hesse other pictures is beyond me.
I February I bought quilts that had been donated to Whisker Rescue, the people fostering my cats. During February all donations were matched, so they got $160.00 for the quilt, and that was matched to total $320.00. I donated $750.00 and it got matched for a total of $1500.00. Nice quilt huh, it's going on the wall in my new room.
-
Love the guitar guitar Mike. She came out great. And the quilt is special. Am I wrong or are those "quilted" maple cats?
-
I love how she turned out Mike! In the words of Ricardo Montalban, she looks marvelous!!! You'll be happy with the Seth! That's one great pickup. You dun good! And yes, I love the quilt!!!

Ms Lora and Mr and Mrs Wu,
It is nice and loud unplugged, it is quite easy to play, and plugged in had a fantastic range of tones. Every bit as good as an American Gibson L-5.
thank you so much, it is far better than anything I had hoped for.
You Friend.
Mike

That was what I was waiting to hear! Not just a pretty face and knockout body but complex and deep. Blondie.

You are too humble. Once people get to know you they find out what a wonderful person is helping them in the ordering process. I sat and played the guitar without an amp about an hour. Again my first song was my Moms favorite song "Personality". Then I sang a number of older songs by the Everly Brothers who I always liked - my favorite being Walk Right Back. The guitar is a companion to me singing, I am not as accomplished a player as many here but the guitar makes me want to sing more, it is so effortless to play that the songs just keep coming out from my heart.
this was such a hard month, now I have the guitar to play and relax with before I fly to River Forest next week
thank you Lora, you are such a good person and friend. I will spend all of Friday sitting inside while it snows singing and playing Blondie.

Mike, just curious...what's the action like on your guitar?
-
Very easy, I have TI GB12 flats on now, techs really made it easy to play. It's gonna be fun playing it
Cant wait for it to open up some.

I've had things quiet down here now that the movers are gone. I've played Blondie a lot, today it will be 60 so I'll be able to sit on my porch and play some. It's getting louder already. I think I'm going to buy another Fuchs amp in a month or so. Here's my label.

It is my last night in Jersey. This time tomorrow I'll be in River Forest, Illinois.
All 8 guitars went out UPS, they were short on guitar boxes so my little parlor guitar went out, 1 huge box with all my chef knives kitchen gadgets and a box Pay It Forward guitar bomb parcel to DeChown Jenkins to Atlanta. You can look him up on You Tube, CBS Subday Morning, George Benson. Everything else ships tomorrow - prayer request for my parcels fellas. I spent over $800.00 having the UPS Store pack everything. What an experience guys !!
next time I post it'll be from River Forest.
