Thanks a lot for your reply BigMikeinNJ!

Yes, I have been researching Mr Wu's work a lot on this forum and I have been in contact with Lora as well. Read a lot of your posts and they've been very helpful.

The neck shape I described is pretty much of my Hohner G2T headless guitar, which some people in reviews describe as fat or "chunky". I usually consider myself as someone who likes a slim neck, such as a 60's gibson neck. But this bigger Hohner neck is also really comfortable. For the tone benefits I think I'm gonna go for fatter neck this time around.

The type of neck he would usually make, is it like "classical guitar" big or more like "59 les paul big"? Would people in general consider it a comfortable neck?

    Thanks again Mike!

He makes great guitars but to be brutally frank he insists on making fatter necks no matter what you tell him.
You want something really unique and don't mind explaining in great detail (with photos and illustrations). Ms Lora can translate it all to him. She's great.
He produces a great carved instrument but they all need a really good setup, fret leveling and replacement of the electronics. This has been covered ad naseum in many threads here.
I have no idea what neck shape you have described. Say something like "it feels like an early 80s Ibanez AS200" and I comprehend.

I spend very little time on this or any other forum due to my failing eyesight. Please spend time searching out the the threads here to get your answers.

What's the neck profile like and what information did you provide on thickness, shape etc? Just nut width or what type (C/D/V) as well? I'm thinking about how specific I should be on my order. Something tells me I should just let them build what they think is the best.

I have one neck I really like that's C shaped, nut width 42mm-55mm (22 frets). Thickness 1st fret 22mm, 12th fret 23mm. How would it compare to this?

I have two Wu guitars, one of which I commissioned. It has a C shaped neck, actually a little thinner than I really wanted, but it's really fine. For the neck profile, I was sent three drawings, and I chose the thickest. You can specify almost anything when you order a guitar, including the neck width. Mine is 45mm/1.75". I ordered a Benedetto neck, and that's pretty much what I got. The acoustic tone and volume are better than I had dared hope for. The other guitar I bought off ebay, sight unseen, and it has a D neck with shoulders. It's not ideal, but I get used to it easily. I assume that's the way the original buyer ordered it. I think that if you specify what you want, both in size and shape, you'll get something very close to that, probably as close as you would get with any other luthier. Mr Wu does not speak or write English, so correspondence goes through Lora, but it wasn't a problem for me. Tell her what you want, plainly, as many times as you think necessary, and you should get it.
