Thank you all once again for your insightful comments.

With as unsure as you are of what you're buying, sticking with what you have is really the best thing until you have had a better opportunity to play one or both.

[QUOTE=Klatu;563198] However, I want to add that Jazz.Fred will never buy a guitar if he continues reading this thread, as it's become a competition to "win" his opinion. Humans have an innate desire to win the approval of others (consider it an economic marketplace of emotions).

Well, it seems his decision not to purchase is because, upon further thought, there is no compelling reason to purchase just now. This is sound: There is no shortage of guitars, now or esp. in the future, and he can always change his mind.

To be honest, whatever course he takes will be up to him, and fine with me. I have no "skin in the game". But I've bought musical equipt. in my life, and later regretted it, and could have avoided mistakes if I'd had a forum like this.

We live in an information age....full of promise, but also of peril. Much of the information we get is shaped by commercial considerations. It is hard to assess the reliability/credibility of the information proffered. People with a side-agenda will present biased information, incorrect information, and incomplete information, all designed to steer us in a certain direction.

Forums, like this, can act as a correction mechanism to help us cut through the claptrap.
