    Hello,
    I've tested two speakers today.
    Beyma and Jensen Alnico.
Same guitar/arch-top KA Floating PAF, pure tube sound MV3h head and different 12" speaker cabinets.Same style of playing over "East of The Sun".

    Hi,
They both sounded good to me. Kinda hard to choose, but maybe I liked the Jensen more.
BTW, just placed an order, and can't wait to plug it into my Eminence Beta 12A

    Some more tests with MV-3h.

I did recording with MV-3h and same arch-top jazz box.
On one I used only line out another one was recorded with Shure mike and cabinet with Jensen Alnico speaker.
They are different but quite good quality.

it looks really classy your tele. I like the natural look of it. I had a g&l legacey special, which was equipped with their dual blades, which is the same type of pu which you have. I listened to your tele ex. again and I think allthough it's a humbucker, there is still som single coil charcter preserved.

    Thanks,
Sure - it is not standard size humbucker.I think Seymour Duncan humbucker will sound fatter.

    Hi jazz guitarits,
I 've used this head/MV-3h/ and 12" cabinet on jazz gig yesterday.
I can say 15 watt pure tube sound it is Ok with my arch-top guitar.
Clean- loud sound without any "crunch".Volume - 3/4...so not full.
It was comfortable on stage. I played with quartet/ bass, drums, trumpet ,vocal/.
I've tried two chanells, second one is louder/more drive/.
    Great small tube amp.

Hi, I'm responding about my champ clone that I built.

I bought a kit on ebay. I had to get the transformers and tubes on my own....so I bought some locally made Hammond transformers and was gifted some 50 year old westinghouse tubes.... KW is my hometown, so I thought I would represent.
I bought this kit from boothill amps (they're in florida!) and it seems to be made from 'nice' components, or my amp guy (who double and triple checked my work before turning it on) said so at least!

I built the little box out of pine, butt joints and all. It's a tank! In the first pic, you'll see my deluxe clone...that's the speaker cab that I'm playing through right now...

How does it sound? It is a beautiful tube amp - that's a fact for sure. I like all 5 watts it has to offer, and the 'actual guitar tone' is super clean at low volume and super overdriven when it's on 12. We all know the 'turn the volume on the guitar knob down for cleans' trick, and it works exceptionally well!

I'm doing an experiment this week: I'm using this amp for a gig in a bar that will be full of 'real, live people'...and one other musician on stage playing a smallish amp. During sound check, it turned out that this amp is 'loud as heck' and will be enjoyable to use on stage...and off. Of course, I will be mic'ing this amp to compete with the vocals....

You see, this gig is actually a set of 6 performances of the play 'the seagull' by chekov (not star trek)
my girlfriend has written the music (for live performers and tape/audio/visual components) and we are the 'house band' as well as 'backup musicians' for several songs in the play. My first acting gig!

Nice work. Not sure 5 watts amp will work good at gig with arch-top jazz box.Maybe it is good quality practise/studio amp.
    Good luck with your amp
