I have an Ibanez AS73 that I got for really cheap. I really like the guitar for what it is and I decided to basically never throw any real money into the guitar as it will be a beater. However, when I tried a set of chromes on the guitar I noticed the wound G will not intonate quite all the way. I can get pretty close, but it is always slightly flat. I need the string to sit closer to the pickup, but the TOM is maxed out in that direction for that string.
I did try a GOTOH bridge as I like those, but this one has just about the same intonation travel as the stock bridge. I have tried all the standard reversing saddles and things like that. And no, the string is not defective.

A post like this will move the bridge a little bit. Probably some knockoffs on eBay if you want to save money. StewMac used to have a thumbwheel version, but I couldn't find it on their website.

This is a great, cheap idea. Worth trying. That was fast lol

[Edit: sorry, I didn't notice the "AS73" in your post and assumed an archtop with a movable bridge. Your situation is different than that. Allen's suggestion might be the best option]
