I’ve got an Eastman archtop with a couple frets that popped out, does anyone know a good way to know them back down safely? I’m hesitant to use a hammer because the steel hammer may cause flat spots and I don’t have any clamps or anything

If you don’t have the right tools, take it to a shop.

If you can’t afford the shop, put it in the case and work an extra shift at Taco Bell.

It’s going to cost more for them to fix your botched repair than it will be for them to repair it.

You need specific tools to do it right. Hammering them back in even with a fret hammer can cause more problems. The best approach takes different directions depending. A radius block clamped with some wicked in thin ca glue works well but nothing something i suggest unless you have done it before. Doe’s fingerboard have binding?

In this case the good way is the right way.

Take it to the doctor. You will likely need a quick level and crown of one or more frets once its done to not have buzz so just give it to someone who knows what they are doing.

As said, a salvage job from bad repair costs more than just doing it right the first time.
