Hey All
looking for advice for a new archtop tailpiece in a 17 inch archtop. I have looked at the off the shelf options and have ran into sizing issues and wondering if anyone builds them.
currently I have a Benedetto style tie on tail which is putting too much stress on the end jack. I need to replace it with either a hinge or a bracketed version that will have a plate that goes into the the end jack. The end jack is the on the butt where the strap pin would be.
its currently ebony but would like brass or gold or something with an ebony insert.
any ideas?

Steven Holst makes custom wood tailpieces that are artful and sound great.
luthier stephen holst accessories

And you can also write to Lora who is the intermediary for a number of Beijing based custom luthiers. I believe somebody in her association can make one that has a metal framework and wood body

Alexander Polyakov does Gibson ones l5, super 400 he is on reverb or you can search him on google. I like the gold finger tailpieces they are cheap from Emma music about 90 euros or I got a gold d'angelico stair step tailpiece from d'angelico.com I think that was £80

There's a guy on facebook called Mike Arnold. He's in the group Luthiers Club. He has some bridges and tailpieces for sale and it looks like he makes them.
A very special NGD: a custom build that brought my ideas to life.
