Sennheiser HD598s for me. Comfortable, best sound stage I’ve heard, frequently on sale.

    Not that simple !
Thomann quotes it for £1658 actually
    or €1899
Looks like Fender price policy in Europe tends to be similar to Mesa Boogie ....
Too expensive for me for what I'd use it for

It's easier to bring back from a holiday abroad than a Twin Reverb

otoh you guys pay through the nose for Marshall amps

Which obviously bothers the members of this forum massively haha

    Ah those import taxes!

I think T-I strings are cheaper in the EU. Remember the EU?

I don't think it's just import taxes for Marshalls in the US, their prices seemed to jump up when they changed their distribution deal a few years back. The difference is crazy nowadays..! Marshall SC20h sells for 880e in the EE (which also has import tax and Vat), 1750$ in the US!

If one is going to record an acoustic guitar with a piezo type of contact pickup with this, what do you think of this scenario——Compression -EQ——Amp Head (BYPASSED)—Amp Cab——Reverb

What would be the compression and EQ you would use? Which amp cab? I can experiment with the mic placement on the cabs readily enough. I assume an amp head is required, but it can be bypassed.

There's a Fender Acoustasonic model, that should be a good start. The Tube preamp also makes sense.

Other than that, I run eq and compression with acoustics - ideally la-2a or 1176, unfortunatelly the Tone Master has neither. Maybe the studio compressor?

Other tnan that, it's a good idea to record an impulse response of the acoustic guitar (it's fairly simple) and use that in the IR block. Ideally the IR block has a mix knob, it usually sounds better when you mix the IR and the pickup.

As for external pedals, I love the TC Body Rez for piezos - although that's basically compression and eq.

“Luddite” success -I figured out how to split the signal to get a dual path stereo amp set up with separate effects and processing for each output. I would’ve given up, quite frankly, out of sheer frustration, if this was Fractal ?AxeFx. Here I have the Fender Acoustimatic amp going through output one and Fender Princeton reverb going through output two.

For those of us who are just musicians coming from a Plug and Play world, it would be very useful to create a video or detailed web page explaining all the signal path choices, what they mean, how we can use them, etc.

Maybe this will help as the UI looks similar to Amplitube:

I wonder why the Fender Tweed amps are so much harder to model than a Twin or Princeton or Deluxe reverb (those are the three Fender amps I know and like).
The tweed amps have a strong tube presence in them. Fender pulled it off pretty good with the Cyber Twin with it's preamp tubes. The blackface stuff pretty much sucks though. I would think mainly the rectifier tube they have the trouble with.
