I bought mine used. Agreed how they name these things is very confusing. Ditto with Ibanez, except they confuse you with combinations of letters and numbers rather than bird species. If I ever make guitars I'm going to use birds and numbers. That'll show 'em.

the one think I hate about the hawk is that the tailpiece sucks if you are using wrapped string slike thomastic

So, the store got the guitar back today at 1pm. I called them at 6 to see if they had a chance to inspect and give me a refund and was told that it just arrived an hour ago. Do they think we're so stupid we can't see the time they signed for it on the UPS site? They said they'd process the refund later in the day (they close at 7). Of course, i never heard from them.
Meanwhile, not a peep out of ibanez.

I haven't had a problem with that (I use Chromes).

LOL I guess he didn't get the memo that Deviser is moving most of 77's production to the Philippines.

was that this one?

they have super thick necks. Keep that in mind...

That's not correct. STD has nothing to do with depth. They make a STD in a thin and deep model.

I'd love one of their thinline models in Koa finish!

Thicker than my Albatross CTM?

It's the Custom model from about 2012 or so. Mahogany body, top, and neck. Literally this guitar....

I'd try the other guitar offered, but absolutely, the dealer should give you your money back if that's what you want.
Customer service is a thing of the past, it seems.
Good luck.

Thanks, i finally got my refund. They charged me for the return shipping only so at this point, i'm going to just write it off as a loss. The business was BarnettMusicExchange.com

Turns out they only charged me for the return shipping but yeah, ibanez support really sucked on this matter. I actually contacted them several times with only a cursory response. A friend of mine is a current endorser and his artist rep contacted me and forwarded my complaint to the corporate office for further review. Still nothing but crickets from them.
