Of course depends on what TYPE of reverb... hall, spring, plate, etc...

BUT... I've been thru a bunch of 'em, and I love my Surf Rider III. But then I love most Fender spring reverbs, so...

What is your favorite reverb pedal?
It depends if you are looking for the "definitive" reverb pedal or if you prefer the cheapest option:

For me the best (perfomance, versatility, reliability, customer service) is the Source Audio Ventris Dual reverb.
Second choice is the Free the Tone Space.

I like the J. Rockett Boing. It's dead simple. One knob. The Topanga is very nice, too, but I've had some issues with two Topanga's. Maybe it's my bad luck. Currently I'm using the Boing, especially with tweed amps.

I can not distinguish my FRV-1 from the spring reverb of my Twin. Very good digital emulation! So if you like classic spring reverb, go for the Boss

My favorite is the Fender outboard reverb unit, but I now use the EH Holy Grail Nano. It's great.

I have a 1962 Fender Reverb Unit so went with a Catlinbread Talisman for a nice plate reverb sound. Plus the built in boost is a nice touch.
    Thanks John

    Hardwire RV7
Had a Hall of Fame but it didn't liked being linked to other pedals on the same power supply. I also thinks the RV7 sounds better especially the spring reverb. The downloadable toneprints on the FOH are fun, though.

I’m a delay kind of guy... but the very best reverb pedal I’ve ever played was the Strymon Blue Sky.

+1 on the Flint. Sounds much more "natural" than any other I tried, plus you get great tremolo, too.

I'm a spring reverb fan and when I wanted to try some reverb on my 5E3 Little Dawg I got a Topanga. Supposedly they set out to get the vibe of a Fender spring reverb from back in the day. I like it. I hear their customer service is good too. I did not experiment with others though, just ordered one up. If that is what you're after, from all I have read..several long threads on TGP etc,it's a good choice.

My tastes change from time to time. I like the TC default, and I also use the preset room, "room with a view", preset low-fi, and the Guitar Center "lost in the tone". I keep the level down to where I can barely tell it's in the circuit, so there isn't a huge difference between the toneprints. I'm not a big fan of the spring or plate presets, nor the church or cathedral sets. I don't play surf music, so subtle settings are what I prefer.

I find the knob seems to only control the volume not the amount of the effect. Am I wrong?

I've never owned a reverb "pedal", but I do have a low level Lexicon MX200 rack mount. It is more than just reverb being able to mix / blend echo and chorus simultaneously. Pretty cool stuff, I wonder how some of their PCM series can command 10x the buckazoids without a blonde being involved in the transaction somehow :-)

Just a little bit of amp reverb is enough for me to create space. Otherwise, the MXR M300 Reverb is great. I only use it for ambient and atmospheric sounds with help of the pad setting.

The Caroline Meteore is a lo-fi reverb that might be something to check out. It can sound springy or grungy depending on how you set it. It can also sound really dirty. I like it for guitar as well as to process other instruments and vocals.

I'm a reverb junkie. Of the four reverbs on my board (Source Audio Ventris, Eventide Space, Walrus Audio Fathom, and MXR M300), my personal favorite, for all-around ease of use, but glorious, wide-ranging sounds, and plenty of punch, would be the Source Audio Ventris. This, and the Space, ended up knocking my Hall of Fame 2, DigiTech Polara, and Earthquaker Devices Afterneath v2 off the board.

The board is still undergoing some refinements.

I, too, use my M300 almost exclusively for the Pad setting, which is glorious.

My only complaint about the pedal is the super bright Blue LED. Looks like you could land a plane with that LED. It's unbelievably bright!
