So what do you do when you can't find the right ES 175 or L4CES...Buy a WesMo instead!
Actually, this will be my second WesMo model. I felt rather than continue to knock the brightness of my previous WesMo L5 the least I could do was acquire another for a deeper more detailed inspection. My playing has improved a bit since the last one left too, so that should help.
After recently acquiring a wine red Epi 175 I guess it's my time to finally own wine red archtops. One just never knows what guitar is going to avail itself on the used market. Living in the moment...this was the best available archtop opportunity at the time of my search.

Congrats 2B. My wine red Wesmo is a keeper for me. I hope yours is for you.
How do you like it?
-
Oh you have a red one too! I thought Vinny did? It's enroute...I'll know in a week. In the meantime I'm shaving down an African Blackwood bridge saddle in preparation for it to arrive. Fingers x'd! Congrats on the soon to be new addition SS...somehow it seems right that D'A becomes part of your growing D'A family.

Back in the day, I was (actually I still am) infatuated with wine guitars but the cosmos being the way it is my 175, Epi Joe Pass, and 335 wound up sunburst, natural, and black.
But, I did manage to get the Tal and Korean D'Angelico I scored in wine.
Your WesMo is one I'd make an exception for it having one pup, best of luck with it.

Thanks Gary!

I was a whisker away from buying a Tal in Sunburst last week...but the auction ended before I could get to it, so it wasn't in the cards...funny how fate plays a part in my purchases...I'm all of a sudden seeing RED!

Aaaaahhhhh, ohhhhhhh .... As Patrick used to say 'only a L5 is a L5'. I came to znderstand what he means. Pair it with the right amp and one has electric archtop heaven. I hope it turns out to be everything you wanted! Congratulations and enjoy! Cheers, Frank

Say, is that an original packet of silica dessicant?

That fiddleback curly maple looks good enough for a Natural. I see a mineral line running down the length of the back. That explains the Wine Red. Still, it is a very nice classy finish with the goldplated parts and amber bonnet knobs.
Comes with the COA, too.
Beautiful, 2bop. Congrats are in order.Last edited by Jabberwocky; 08-28-2016 at 09:08 AM.

Gorgeous. I have always liked the red ones. Looking forward to the evaluation.

That really is a great looking Wes. I truly regret selling my red one. Enjoy it in good health. Bob

Wonderful! Couldn't be moee classy. Congrats!

Wow 2b. A red L5 Wes Montgomery. That's an icon around here.
I pray this stays with you for a while. When you have an L5 in your hands, its as if nothing else ever made can come close. It's a solid, professional level music making machine. You get the feeling that if King Kong played the guitar, he'd have one of those in one hand and Faye Ray wouldn't be in the other..
im happy for you 2b.

Beautiful Premier! They have those in Utah, because I know you're not a fan of shipping?

The wine red coming is a Hutchins model, so let's see if the woods are equally as good or better? Odd, but 4 of 6 L5's I've owned have been Hutchins models.

BTW: I think Gibson should call this model the "KenMo", and offer it in Burgandy as well:

You're thinking of the Red L5C he bought from Danny. I almost bought that guitar when it was available here too.
