Hope you've got really long arms! That 18" lower bout would get to know your armpit and right shoulder really well.
This is why people buy houses. So they can sell them for cash when they find the guitar they really fall for.

OMG! That's a super guitar--no pun intended. Nice, chunky neck, too--specs are 0.86" at nut, 1.12" at 12th fret. Again, super! The engraving reminds me of Maudie Moore's work.
That's a desert island guitar--as long as the island has electric power.
Here is a Maudie Moore engraved tailpiece:

Yes I have been drooling over that one too.

I finally reinstalled the factory pups in my CR8 and I am eyeing my other LPs and PRSi to see which ones I'm ready to let go .... so I hope to begin the sell off soon

18" is just right. And that engraved tailpiece is spectacular.

I learned classical guitar first. Guitar body size has never mattered unless it is too small. Les Paul's are tough to play with classical technique.

Same guitar ..... @ 5% of the price ! https://reverb.com/item/1796033-stroup-18-archtop

That is a tragedy Jabberwocky. Hope you win in the lottery or your boss forgot to pay you that bonus

What does gralify this guitar for you? Ist it the single set pub configuration in combination with blonde and a more ornamented tailpiece? Just curious :-)

Nice guitar, but "retail" for a "used" guitar? C'mon man!

We've seen several archtops that were listed as used over the last year ... but they were new
By listing them as used they can scootch around Gibson's rules for minimum advertised price ... at least that is what my local dealer told me when they had some of their new Gibson's listed as used
Who knows what's up with this one
Used Super 400 prices are all over the place and they don't make sense .... they are asking over 10K for the one I played at Rainbow and it is black with a Bigsby ... a double whammy in my book
there's a few below 7K or 8K that could tempt me to go for the Gibson logo ...
but paying full price does seem nuts ... and an SE starts looking really nice especially one that's has the extra 3/8 inch depth

I'm a Super 400 fanatic too, but my dream Super 4 is a Florentine Cutaway. I don't feel 18" guitars are too big or uncomfortable at all....
Here I am with my 18" Jaen.
