Yeah, it has got to go down...in time. I'm gonna make TMZ an offer in 2017...I mean, nobody really wants these things.

I have watched TMZ's used Gibsons regularly for a while. Have a hard time to believe that anyone would pay those prices for an instrument which comes without warranty because it's labelled "used" - regardless of how sweet a guitar appears.

If this is what's going on they will have a warranty .... doesn't hurt to askLast edited by Bluedawg; 06-03-2016 at 11:13 AM.

I suspect that The Music Zoo is "dealing" on these instruments because they are listing them as used. Used, here, probably means that they have been in stock for longer than they'd like--sluggish inventory. It's stretching the term but, heck, after the election cycle we are going through our vocabulary will be due for a thorough recalibration, no?
The guitar is--for people who like L-5/Super-400 jazz archtops--a heck of a nice guitar. Surely, the way to proceed is to make TMZ an offer. Somebody is going to get a very interesting guitar.

That's a nice piece of guitar, that's sure. Will it be your guitar number 50 ????
As for the 18" dimension, I've tried my first one the other week with a D'Angelico NY and surprinsingly felt at ease with her. So a Super 400 should fit the same in my arms. Gasp, this will facilitate a GAS attack for big gibbys....
Cheers.

I'm riding my little unicorn down the path of big body guitar gas myself ...

I have a couple of PRS guitars that can go too

Yeah, check it out. The guitar, I mean.

That is one beautiful Super 400! Just do what I do---the American way---put it on a credit card so no one buys before you have the cash, then figure out how you're gonna pay for it! Of course get ready for your wife to begin divorce procedures.

Don't pay me no mind. If I had anywhere close to $13k to blow I'd be all over that rare Sup' '4! I mean like, where the heck else is one going to find one? First I've ever seen...I still kick myself for not buying the acoustic Sup' '4 with the DeArmond 1100 2 years ago available at $7k...the guitar availed itself at a bad time, as I was knee deep in guitars

Jabberwocky, if you do buy that beautiful Super 400, promise us you'll use a different shipping company than the one that shipped your Headstrong amp!!!

If I could put 10% of the time I spend collecting and drooling over guitars into actually playing the danged things, I'd probably be great. But where's the fun in that? Besides the less time I spend playing my collection, the better they keep. Obvious fact: Playing a guitar just subjects it to wear and tear.
That's a beauty. And the sad thing is it wouldn't even matter to me if it didn't play well. It's a thing of beauty.

this might be the most blinged out L-5 I've ever seen
hurts my eyes to even look at it....

Sigh.. OK, I'll buy it for you. Of course, I'll have to test it out for a few decades before I forward it on...

The blonde single p/up is a rare beauty. Spectacular indeed !.
On a more humble level, I spotted this 2 p/up Super 400 a few weeks back. Almost priced for a player to be able to afford it. I'm biased. The 1980 Antique Sunburst finish is probably my favourite of all time for some reason. Kinda understated and classy, and ages nicely.

All that bling and Gibson puts plain old knobs on it !
