I searched the forum and I've seen all kinds of threads on amp suggestions, but not one on what you're actually playing. I'm on the search for a new amp, but I'm more interested in what you're playing and why.
Thx in advance.

'67 blackface Fender Twin for most jobs, '66 Vibrolux Reverb for duos, etc.
it was strictly VR's for a number of years, but I need the Twin's 85 watts as it's mostly organ trios these days.

Polytone Minibrute II. I try others, but always come back to this one. I also have a Quilter 101 Mini-Head and Quilter 12 inch cabinet that I enjoy using. Recently got a Yamaha G100-210 but haven't experimented much. 90% of the time, for the last 25 years, it's been the Polytone Minibrute II.

I am getting used to a 5e3 clone. Kinda poor man's Fender Tweed Deluxe. With Weber 12A125A speaker, just wonderful classic jazz sound.
It has almost the same jazzy sound as my Polytone MB IV (not gonna sell it) but with the breathe of the tubes. Better headroom!
Played with a SF Princeton Reverb for years, now I think about selling it. Never got enough of the mids out of it.
Guitar is ES-175 with 1 humbucker. I tried a P90 in it but in the concert it buzzed – and showed my bad technique too clearly! Merciless vehicle! Changed back to a hb fast!
And my band's style is something like self made jazz, when 'swing started to turn into bebop'.

Archtop w/magnetic pu into Evans RE200, 10" combo amp
Archtop w/magnetic pu + piezo into AI Clarus 2R Series III and Buscarino Chamleon 8" cab
Tele and or Semi-Hollowbody into Redplate RP40, 12" tube combo amp

I use three setups. I have a Raezer's Edge 1x12 cabinet and use either an Acoustic Image Clarus 2r or a tweed Deluxe (5E3) head that I built from a Mission Amps kit. The latter is not usable with my archtops due to the very strong bassiness it puts out- the feedback problem is uncontrollable. I use the tweed primarily with my Tele. I use the Clarus with any of my guitars and it's fine but it lacks a bit of resonance or something in the sound; I am prone to choosing this when I play my archtops because the feedback problem can be pretty easily controlled.
My third setup is nontraditional. I have an Alto TS110a powered PA speaker with a 10" speaker and a tweeter. I have a Zoom MS100bt pedal which does amp modeling, reverbs/delays, distortions, other effects. The output has enough voltage that it drives the PA speaker just fine. I have a lot of flexibility with this (models for Twin, tweet Deluxe, Acoustic bass amp, etc.) and usually use the Acoustic bass amp patch with a spring reverb. I also have a reverb and para EQ patch set up that helps with using the archtops and the tweed Deluxe. I've used the Zoom and the Alto on a few fozen gigs and always get complimented on the tone by random audience members, more so than with the RE/Clarus or RE/tweed setups.
Last week I snagged a SansAmp Para Driver DI and have been playing with that a lot running it into the Alto. I have found some sounds I like a lot and have found that playing without reverb really exposes one's playing in terms of accuracy and technique. There's nothing hiding what you play. I've used this setup on one gig so far. One could also go direct to a PA in venues so equipped.
Using the Alto, setup and teardown are fast. One trip from the car to the stage. It's compact on stage. The sound dispersal is wider and it doesn't seem to have a harsh, bright ice pick zone right in front like many guitar amps do. It can stand vertically, lay horizontally or tip back like a wedge monitor. I have found it to be a good solution.

Reeves Custom 50 (HiWatt)

MB200 head with 12" open back cabinet. Just ordered a Quilter Mini 101 head and am building a RE Stealth 10 clone to go with it. Reverb units vary. Fender Maverick 1 for home practice.
-
Rivera Clubster 45 for straight ahead jazz with Heritage 575 and Funk with Blacktop Strat, Ampeg Jet II for blues and 50's Rock n Roll, ZT Lunchbox for Brunch with DAngelico ri, with Floater pickup.

Polytones or vintage fenders super reverb is my favorite).
For distortion, there are lots of choices, but a hot rodded Marshall is the sound in my head.

I have two rigs: a Gallien Krueger MB200 with an Earcandy Ethan cab (a 1x10 ported cab with an Eminence Lil' Buddy speaker) and a second Gallien Krueger MB200 with an Earcandy Mr Watts (a 1x8 ported cab with an Eminence Beta 8)

I only have one amp right now. It's an original JazzKat and I really enjoy it. I also have a Line6 but it's currently packed away for my impending move.

Gallien Krueger MB200 Bass heads, that never crossed my mind for Jazz guitar, I see several members are using them

A Milkman Dairy Air head into RE Stealth 10 for archtops... or a Mather 1x12 with a Jupiter 12 LC for solid bodies.
-
A non reverb princeton or a HenrikSen head/ Redstone 8" speaker cab.
I also have an old minibrute, but I don't use it as much.

Just sold my 1957 deluxe and bought a Henriksen Bud. Why? Because Bud does everything (won't repeat the feature list here, but it is insane), comes in a small package, and the difference in price between it and the Deluxe pays this years taxes.
Also have a Carvin MB10 because I like to play bass, and could be slaved or whatever if I find myself in a playing situation the Bud can't handle.
I also have a Danelectro Nifty Seventy Bass amp that has a 10 inch Weber Chicago wedged into it that has kicked the butt out of every booteek practice amp I ever owned until I got the Bud.

Have this:

Would like to upgrade to this:

For gigs with myself and bass player, we have been using two JBL Gen 2 EONs 10" powered, and lately have been using a Motu Ultralight AVB audio interface as our mixer. If any one of those pieces shut down and packed it in for the evening, we could still limp along with the remaining pieces.
I have not had a small combo amp in years, but have been thinking about something that would be light weight and easy to set up. Maybe a Henriksen Bud.

About 50 of them in my Kemper presets but mainly
Alessandro Bloodhound
Carr Rambler
Fender Princeton - or Vibroverb

Found a 1972 Princeton Reverb locally for $675, period correct speaker and tubes but the treble cap changed for more treble which is kinda nice. Sweet little amp, I haven't spent time with a Princeton since the late 70's.

Mine have to do guitar and violin duty so good straight tone is important, I have a Twin from 82 loaded with a JBL D130. For practice in a different space I use a Yamaha G50 210 mk1 which I really like. Recently I acquired a Randall RG120 115 and am quite surprised about the sound. For street stuff and off the grid I have Crate Limos which are great sounding ,terribly made amps with long battery life. My rack set up runs in stereo so 2-3 amps get used, I like dry in the middle set ups at times. For jamming or small things I'll just grab an amp. Sometimes I'll use Ampegs.

Fractal Axe Fx II and AX8. I also have a real '65 Deluxe Reverb and Seymour Duncan Convertible. But I haven't played those in years.
