I have a 2014 mic casino and a peerless songbird 2009 and there is zero difference in build, fit and finish or any other aspect except slightly differing neck profile and feel. Feel is what it comes down to, try a songbird, try a mic casino which do you prefer, which fits. I can tell you straight the peerless electrics is budget alpha pots, budget selector switch, budget pladtic wire, the PUs overwound and not clean, the gloss finish identical to the mic casino, zero difference for 300-400 cash difference, rewire a mic casino, change pu's for some Creamery, manchester hand wounds, switchcraft switch a jackband still come in more cost effective than a peerless, peerless better than mic these days, nah.Strings taper on a casino between neck and bridge, pole spacings differ between the two pus, see if your lolars and whatever respect that, if not get in touch with Jamie at the Creamery, Manchester, UK

the elitist is the highest level of casino..but inspired by is close for alot less money

    cheers
the lennon, or 1965 is actually the highest level of casino, tho elitist, some will be equal in sound, or better.

I've owned a 2006 MIK Casino and a Peerless Renaissance, I think 2013 model, but not at the same time. I do remember that the Renaissance played so much better than the Casino. The strings seemed a bit stiffer and not as sloppy, the guitar was heavier and they were in two different worlds.

I'm wondering if the Renaissance and Songbird has the neck angle closer to the original Casino or Gibson and that may change the way they play as well. Years ago I also owned a 65 ES330 which had plastic saddles.

Some differences in the "Inspired by" are that is joins the neck at 16F, Ren and Songbird at 17F, Synth bone nut on the Inspired by, Bone on the Ren and Songbird, 1.68" Nut on the Inspired by and 1.69" nut on the Peerless, slightly different scale of 24.75" on the Inspired by and 24.72" on the Peerless. I didn't see any info on the Inspired by body dimensions.

I have not played a Songbird but since the body size is the same as the Renaissance I'm wondering if they play the same. Yes, one has a maple neck and the other a hog but they basically look the same besides the pickups.

So, has anyone A-B'd a Songbird and a Renaissance or a Renaissance and an "Inspired by" ?
