I think Entresz it is often, more about feel rather than just sound. Tubes absolutely react and feel different than SS. Perhaps one the reasons behind my preferences is that I am not a "dig in to the strings" a la Pat Martino kind of player. Especially with my arch top, I play my best when I use a gentle touch and I've never felt that SS didn't have a wide enough dynamic response to satisfy me. I find a solid body a very different beast and I like have that extra touch sensitivity at my disposal. Along with that, I find (generally speaking) that tube amps have more inherent character than SS, with SS being more "neutral" which is what I'm looking for with a carved top with a floater.

I like SS amps but I love tube amps. I tend to think SS amps are more sterile sounding than tube amps . . . not inferring that sterile is bad, some may think of it as neutral(?).
