These are looking like a nice direct drop in? I need to measure the existing tuner holes on the L-5, but theses are looking good:

Center of hole-to-hole distance on the Wafflebacks is 1.084" | 27.53mm, according to Kluson

Argh! I wonder if the one hole Grover’s would line up with the Sealfast bottom hole?
seems like no direct Nickle replacements out there that will line up with the existing holes...

If you want nickel or chrome tuners on the guitar, I suspect that your best bet is to replace the Kluson Sealfast tuners with a set of Grover Imperial tuners. Not the pretend ones from Grover that use Imperial buttons on Rotomatic bodies, but the real ones from Grover that use Imperial buttons on full-sized Imperial bodies. Gibson did use Grover Imperial tuners on L-5s here and there.

Current new Grover Imperials Model 150 tuners are the same, but Grover also makes a Model 151 that is not cut off, as shown in the attached pix of a Gertsch. With the new Grovers, you could even swap out the Imperial buttons for keystone buttons in plastic or metal - these buttons are available as aftermarket parts.
Of course, one can find vintage Grover Imperials on the net, as per the attached pix.
