I didn't realize clip on tuners had become so universal. I find they look a little tacky to leave on full time. I tune with an android app while setting up and then tune by ear during the gig if needed.

I think there might be two types of snark - the tiny, cubish one and then one that is sort of on a pivot/hinge.
I don't see how the cubish one could break...mine's been quite resilient. Could the guys who've had their Snark break chime in with which version they had?

My gooseneck model broke at the flimsy joint where the neck meets the head, but no worries. These tuners are so cheap as to make them virtually disposable.
If you treat them right, there's no reason why they shouldn't last for years. I've had one red one for long enough to have changed the batteries several times.
As far as tuning is concerned, i don't obsess the pinpoint precision a Peterson strobe tuner might offer since the guitars intonation will never be perfect.
