    Just curious.
I keep one wedged under my tailpiece for emergencies.

Two extras in my left pocket ... always.

some in my wallet, some in my guitar case and one super fresh pick in the small pocket you have on your jeans on the right side and some in my left pocket. I'm a little bit too carefuly, but I had a gig once, where I couldn't find my pick and that was a nightmare.

On my music stand, usually 3 or so. I want to get one of these for the vocal mike stand:

dunlop micstand pickholder 5025623568220 | eBay.

When I'm playing using fingers only, I tuck the pick under my right little finger. That may be another topic altogether, but it rounds out the answer.

In an Altoids tin on top of my amp. And I always keep an extra in my wallet.

Between thumb and index finger as well as in the cracks between my sofa cushions.

I have a little votive candle "cup" I keep mine in on my music table, as far as with each guitar no... but if a guitar is "housed" upstairs, (not in my music room), I'll "weave" a pick thru the strings at about the 3d fret, just so THAT guitar has a pick when I pick it up.

HA!! I know you meant during a gig . . . but, I'm with Mr. B. Not in an Altoids (Curiously Strong!) tin. But, in an ash trey from one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The Casa Dante, Jersey City, New Jersey. When smoking in restaurants was banned . . I took one home.

(Back in my gigging days . . . I always kept a few in my right pocket.)

I remember seeing a live video of Pat Metheny and he had a strip of electrical tape on top of his guitar with the tips of picks stuck under the edge. I thought, "That's a nifty idea."

A couple in the right pants pocket and always a few in the car. At home in a candy dish on the coffee table. Usually I try to keep one between my thumb and index fingers while I'm playing

I live a 10 minute walk away from Casa Dante, Patrick!

I agree it is one of the world famous -- and best! -- places to eat, and the prices are incredibly fair and the wait staff are still Golden Age Old World.

    We eat there often. SMILE!

Part compartment boxes, Altoids tins, D'Andrea pick tins. Playing picks get stuck in a chalkboard eraser between the felt plys.

One in the strings of each guitar, a couple in my wallet, stock and variety in a harmonica case, and strays pretty much where ever they feel like wandering off to.

What a small world! You're totally right about the wait staff! Their the best. Still wear the tuxedos and offer the best service. Rosario is my personal waiter. If you should happen to get him, just mention "Patrick, from down the shore". If I don't see what I want on the menu, I tell Louie and he calls Gregg out of the kitchen. If he has what I want in the kitchen . . . he'll always accommodate me. Also Louie, the matr'd is one of the coolest guys ever. He's been there since way before Dom Marino took it over.

Casa Dante in Jersey City and La Strada in Chicago . . . two of my favorite places to dine.

(sorry for the hi-jack . . I get excited when I talk about Italina food or wine)

Several in pockets and wallet. Two in a Wedgie pick holder stuck between strings on the headstock. And many dozens in one of those multi-compartment boxes intended to hold nuts and bolts, to keep the different kinds of picks separate.

I don't want to keep hijacking this thread either, so I'll contribute by saying I don't use a pick, I play fingerstyle -- but if I did use picks, I would keep them in Patrick's fabulous Casa Dante ashtray -- which I am envying with every passing moment...

Our favorite waiter quit Casa Dante several years ago to work at a new restaurant in Manhattan. The waitstaff quietly told us he was doubling his money. We didn't frequent the place as much after that because it felt like we lost a really great friend and eating there felt more like visiting a tomb.

Now we save our visits for special occasions only -- but as my wife likes to say, "Every day is our birthday," so we sort of still go there there more often than we should. SMILE!

Seriously, Casa Dante is an oasis in a rough urban core. You step one foot inside and you're in a different place and time and the menu is outstanding.

You can hear some really great law gossip around you because judges and lawyers from the Hudson County Courthouse pack the place and they all have a tendency to talk just a little too loud at lunch with too much win.

I just hate it when they close for two weeks in July for vacation -- because we miss an anniversary dinner and a real birthday celebration!

I keep my picks on the ends of my hands. I play only fingerstyle. In my lifetime, I've bought at least 200 picks and lost them all. I'm not allowed to buy picks anymore.

My original post was a little hasty so I will complete it I have time
1 wedged in the TP of my guitar
My pick du jour under the strings when I am not playin
A drawer full in my workshop
I keep about 10 different picks where I practice. I keep them in a soapbar PU cover and use the pick that sounds best that day
I started using the pick pocket in me jeans last year and now find that if it is empty it feels weird

I am working on a little box to house my picks ,my glass slide , my capo and my tuner and I'm going to put some slots in the lid to hold easy access picks. I'm going to use some nice woods and oil finish it , I'll post some pictures when I'm done.

    I have about 200 socks I can't find either.
